The Remote Gardener is now an Authorized Solexx TM  Distributor. We now offer Solexx Greenhouse Kits. Solex by the Roll and Solexx by the sheet. Take a look at The Remote Gardener Store to see which Greenhouse will suit your needs.

We are also optimizing our own Custom Hydroponics system and will be offering a large variety of Hydro Kits soon. These kits will give you everything you need to get growing with your own affordable Hydroponics system. The only thing you will need to supply is soda bottles and a nutrient reservoir (5 gallon bucket or other suitable container). These systems are perfect for any of our Solexx Greenhouses and they also work great stand alone. Why deal with dirt? With our system  you can set it and just refill the reservoir periodically. It is also a lot less messy and uses far less water than conventional gardening. Plus, our system has advances more expensive hydro systems do not. Such as, ease of assembly, readily available expansion parts, and the ability to allow the medium (rocks, soilless mix) to fully breathe. If you have any questions, please reply to this post so that all can see. We will have pictures of the kits and updates on them once they are posted to our store.

We have more progress. We have placed the outside lower boards into place. These have all been treated with Thompsons water seal so that they will last for years. We do not expect hem to last as long as the Solexx but they will be easy enough to change out in a few years if necessary.

We still need to silicone around the sides so that there will be no air leaks between the plywood and the 2X6. Once that is done we will use expanding foam to seal the plywood to the ground. Then we will get started on finishing those end walls. Note the small hydroponics system in the greenhouse. We moved this out of the sun the day before the hail hit. Yet another reason to go with a greenhouse over a standard outdoor hole in the ground. More to come soon.

Here we are in Arizona in mid August and we got hit by a large hail storm. Had our greenhouse been using polycarbonate or poly film our entire crop may have been damaged, possibly beyond recovery. We will get some new images of the greenhouse posted when we get a chance for now just know that it weathered the strom just fine.
